The UPLB Museum of Natural History has four Collections departments which provide services needed by researchers and students alike: Microbial culture collection, Zoological and Wildlife Museum, Mycological Herbarium and Entomological Museum.
- Microbial Culture Collection: A repository of microorganisms and provides cultures upon request for instruction, research and industrial purposes. It offers other services such as microbiological analysis of samples which includes microbial cultural count, isolation and identification, water quality analysis, short-term training in basic microbiological techniques and other microbiologically-related analyses.
- Zoological and Wildlife Museum: A collection of 14,750 stuffed birds and animals, 748 specimens of birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians on display, as well as about 700 shells. It provides identification and taxidermy of animal and birds and assistance to field biodiversity surveys.
- Mycological Herbarium: A collection of about 11,000 ascomycetes, basidiomycetes and myxomycetes. It provides identification services of macrofungal specimens to students, university faculty and researchers.
- Entomological Museum: A repository of more than 120,000 pinned insect specimens in 285 families and 22 orders and about 5,000 slide-mounted insect species as well as more than 75,000 slides of mites. It provides identification (species, genus, families and order), pinning, mounting and sorting of insect specimens.
