CAFS-IFST Food Chemistry Laboratory

The Food Chemistry Laboratory performs functions namely instruction, research and extension. The laboratory serve as support laboratory for the courses FST 101, FST 102, FST 202, FST 300 and FST 400. The laboratory also provide analytical services to the food industries, other private entrepreneurs and students. Analytical services include proximate composition, sugar analysis, Vitamin A, C free fatty acid, titratable acidity and nutritional labelling of food products. The Food Chemistry laboratory is also involved in product development work such as in the preparation of prototype food product. It also conducts short courses in legume and oil seed processing.

The FSC Pilot Plant offers venue for instructional purposes where the students are familiarized with some basic food processing equipment which they may encounter in the industry. Also, the Pilot Plant’s facilities are used for the unit’s researches on food processing. Likewise, it offers micro-scale food-related services like canning and food drying and other toll processes.

CDC-DZLB Radio / TV Production Booth

The DZLB as a development broadcasting facility is the University’s extension arm and medium within the CALABARZON. It is also the laboratory for students taking up community broadcasting courses. It also serves as digital recording studio and capable of streaming live video and audio over the web given an appropriate Internet bandwidth.
