Basic Training Course on Artificial Insemination and Pregnancy Diagnosis on Large Animals for NDA

This course is intended for the National Dairy Authority for the farmers who would be Cooperative Dairy Technicians in the dairy areas NDA supports. The course will provide participants technical knowledge and practical skills in artificial insemination and pregnancy diagnosis on large animals. The course will have lectures and demonstration for the first two weeks and the other two weeks will be alloted to practical skills on AI and PD by rectal palpation. Written and practical exams will be given and each participant will have to prepare and present his or her action plan at the end of the course.

Proximate Analysis of Foods and Feeds

Proximate analysis is a standard methodology employed in the food and feed industry.  The knowledge, analytical techniques and instrumentation needed in the conduct of this standard method will be taught.  The participants will perform actual analysis of foods and feeds.

Both lecture and laboratory sessions will teach the theory, principles and standard methods in the analysis of moisture content, ash, crude protein, crude fiber, crude fat and nitrogen free extract (NFE). Analysis of carbohydrates and reducing sugars will also be included.
