Invitation to a Research Forum

The College of Economics and Management (CEM) will hold a research forum on October 11, 2013, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm  at the UPLB Center for Technology Transfer and Entrepreneurship (CTTE). 

The research forum aims to provide a venue for the sharing of research results and methodologies among the faculty members and reps of CEM. It is envisioned to enhance its research culture and relate to the university’s thrust of increasing scientific productivity.  It is also intended to inspire and encourage faculty members to improve the quality and quantity of research work. 

There will be an overview presentation of CEM units’ research outputs as well as eight (8) paper presentations from the different units.  Papers to be presented are:

    a.  Regional Economic Integration of the Fisheries Sector in ASEAN Countries;
    b.  Biofuels and the Philippine Economy: Simulations from a Computable General Equilibrium Model;
    c.  Dissecting a Social Enterprise: Reconciling Economic Sustainability and Social Impact;
    d.  Trends in SEARCA’s Food Security Researches: Insights from a Meta-Analysis;
    e.  Impact Assessment of the Fishery School-on-the-Air;
    f.   Benchmarking and Value Chain Analysis of Organic Vegetables in Regions 3 and 4;
    g.  Impact Assessment of Selected Projects under the S &T Anchor Program for Mango – Phase II; and
    h.  An Assessment of the Informal International Trade of Selected Agricultural Commodities in the Philippines
