Invitation to the 21st National Fruit Symposium

The PhilFruit Associations, Inc. in collaboration with the University of Southeastern Philippines invites you to attend the 21st National Fruit Symposium with the theme: Biodiversity, Conservation and Utilization of Rare and Native Fruits.  It will be held on October 21-25, 2013 at USeP Social Hall, Obrero, Davao City.

Highlights of the event will include a two-day program to discuss different issues on rare and native fruits (October 22-23).  Mr. Ken Love will be the keynote speaker to present  the tropical fruit industry of Hawaii.  Plenary sessions will follow.  Topics for discussions include: conservation of tropical fruits, potential rare and native fruits in the Philippines, pest and disease management of major fruit trees in Region XI, business opportunity in coco sugar, the culinary uses of tropical fruits and struggles in the production and processing of miracle fruits in the Philippines.

There will be an agri-ecotourism tour on the fourth day. They will explore the durian orchard and processing, EDEN's Nature Park, Philippine Eagle and City landmarks.  Detailed program of activities is attached for your reference.
