TO: All Concerned
SUBJECT: Collection of Waste Cooking Oil
With the establishment of the UPLB-Interdisciplinary Biofuels Research Studies Center, one of its local initiatives is to utilize used cooking oil as feedstock for biofuel production.
In line with this, we are requesting the UPLB community (faculty, staff and students) to stock up all the waste cooking oil starting 15 January 2014, and drop them off at the Department of Chemical Engineering, CEAT during office hours.
The collected used cooking oil will be converted into biodiesel in order to minimize waste production, as well as reduce energy consumption, in pursuit of the University's continuous efforts of climate change mitigation. The biodiesel produced will be used to run the agricultural machineries in the University.
For any queries and other information, please contact the Department of Chemical Engineering through Ms. Lisa Stephanie Dizon at (049) 536 3664 or 0917 8665472.
Your compliance is greatly appreciated.
