SUBJECT: BAR's Requirement of Putting Up Signage/s



The Bureau of Agricultural Research (BAR) requests all project leaders with BAR-funded project/s being implemented by UPLB to put up signage/s placed in conspicuous areas, preferably in front of the agency/institution and at the project site/s. This is to properly acknowledge and give due recognition to the R&D assistance and funding support provided by the Department of Agriculture through BAR. Below are the information requested to be placed in the project signage:

  1. DA-BAR & Agri-Pinoy Logo
  2. Project Title
  3. Funding/Coordinating Agency
  4. Implementing/Collaborating Agency
  5. Project Location

As part of our commitment to increase the research culture within the university, the OVCRE will be consolidating all RDE related events of all colleges and units. The information will be used for promotion and dissemination, as well as possible write-ups for the upcoming RDE Digest and Chronicle. The events will also be included in the calendar in the RDE Portal at ovcre.uplb.edu.ph. We will also be releasing a graphic calendar to be posted on Social Media.

We are now in the process of consolidating information on short courses and training programs to be offered this summer of 2015. We will we putting the schedules in the UPLB RDE Portal at http://ovcre.uplb.edu.ph.

If you have any offering you wish to include, please provide us an electric copy and send it thru email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the following information or or before 02 March 2015.

  1. Title of training course
  2. Short description
  3. Date (duration) and time schedule
  4. Venue, course fee and other requirements
  5. Full name of course coordinator/Full name of coordinator of specific training (module)
  6. Email addresses of course coordinator and/or specific training (module) coordinator
  7. Updated contact telephone/telefax numbers
  8. Minimum number of participants required

Hard copies will not be accepted.

SUBJECT: Call for Applications to the Scientific Career Merit System CY 2015

Relative to Memorandum No. OVPAA-2015-06, we would like to invite all research and extension personnel to apply to the Scientific Career System, a DOST-CSC Merit Program. The program will help our REPS personnel discover the career path that will allow them to develop within their respective areas of expertise and be promoted up to salary grade 30.


Please take note that all applications will be reviewed by the UPLB Scientific Career Evaluation System (SCES) prior to endorsement to UP System. The period of evaluation of accomplishments is from January 2005 to December 2014. Kindly prepare seven (7) hard copies and one (1) CD copy of your application and other supporting documents.


We will appreciate receiving your submissions on or before February 18, 2015.

SUBJECT: Donation of Recyclable Paper Materials for the Batong Malake Senior Citizens' Association (BMSCA)

As part of UPLB's support to the local government unit of Batong Malake, you are requested to voluntarily donate your discarded office papers, old magazines, newspapers, and other similar materials to the Batong Malake Senior Citizens' Association (MBSCA).


The BMSCA is an accredited association that has livelihood programs for the elderly of Batong Malake. The members will engage in the trading of recyclable paper materials (e.g. used bond papers, newspapers, etc.) and in the production of home-made paper bags. Funds generated will support their activities and livelihood projects.
