We are now in the process of consolidating information on short courses and training programs to be offered this summer of 2016. We will we putting the schedules in the UPLB RDE Portal at http://ovcre.uplb.edu.ph.

If you have any offering you wish to include, please provide us an electric copy and send it thru email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the following information or or before 18 March 2016.

  1. Title of training course
  2. Short description
  3. Date (duration) and time schedule
  4. Venue, course fee and other requirements
  5. Full name of course coordinator/Full name of coordinator of specific training (module)
  6. Email addresses of course coordinator and/or specific training (module) coordinator
  7. Updated contact telephone/telefax numbers
  8. Minimum number of participants required

Hard copies will not be accepted.

For those units reoffering short courses done last year, please inform Ms. Regina Mae C. Ongkiko by phone (536-2354) about this or any adjustments in details (i.e. date, course fee, phone number, others).

SUBJECT: Selection Guidelines for the 2016 UPLB Outstanding Researcher and Research Program/Team Awards; 2016 Outstanding Extension Personnel and Extension Program/Project Awards; and 2016 Outstanding Artist Awards



To honor UPLB faculty and staff demonstrating excellence in research, extension, and creative arts, a special recognition in the form of the 2016 Outstanding Researcher and Research Program/Team Awards; 2016 Outstanding Extension Personnel and Extension Program/Project Awards; and 2016 Outstanding Artist Awards will again be given during a convocation commemorating the 107th Foundation Anniversary of UPLB in March 2016.

A three-stage selection process described in the attached selection guidelines shall be initiated at the department/institution level, followed by further evaluation at the college level.

The final selection shall be done by the University committees which shall be constituted by the Chancellor.

In the screening process, the deans, department chairs, and/or directors are requested to follow the schedule below:

ACTIVITY DEADLINE

1. Submission to OVCRE of three (3) sets of the following requirements:
a. Nomination Form
b. Justification Form
c. Accomplishment Summary Form
d. Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae
e. Portfolio (Proof of items)

2. Final selection by the University Committee and submission of
report to the Chancellor.

Pursuant to Memorandum No. PAEP 15-27 dated 15 May 2015 issued by UP System President Alfredo E. Pascual, please find attached the Guidelines on Invention Disclosure Incentive (IDI).

The IDI, which was approved by the UP Board of Regents at its 1305th meeting held on 29 January 2015, is a financial incentive meant to encourage inventors to disclose their inventions to the University, increase the number of patents, and promote a culture of research and innovation among its constituents.

OVCRE Memorandum No.26 S.2015: Contributions for the RDE Chronicle and RDE Digest

SUBJECT: Contributions for the RDE Chronicle and RDE Digest



With the aim of promoting the university's research culture, the OVCRE Information Officers Network will launch the RDE Chronicle and the new RDE Digest this 2015. Both publications will be released twice a year: the RDE Chronicle on March and October, and the new RDE Digest on July and January.

The Chronicle will focus on university news related to research, development, and extension, while the new Digest will focus on timeless stories on the impact of UPLB research and extension initiatives.

For the upcoming issue of the RDE Chronicle, we are welcoming at least one of the following contributions from your unit:

  • News article/s about RDE efforts of your unit from June to September (strategic planning, conference, important visitors, etc.)
  • Literary contributions (poems, short story, anecdote, etc.)

For the new RDE Digest, a feature story or article which fall under any of these categories may be submitted:

  • Technology and Innovations
  • Popularized Publications (popularized version of a journal article)
  • Personality Profile
  • Success Story (stories of adapters of our technologies)
  • Stories from the field (stories and anecdotes of experiences during field work)
  • Review of any masterpiece of any UPLB faculty/staff

We will welcome contributions to the new RDE Digest on or before 06 November 2015.
