The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension is continuously looking for new ways to promote the university’s research culture. One of the ways is to popularize research output and technologies from journal articles of UPLB faculty and staff who were granted the International Publication Award. The popularized output will be featured in the UPLB RDE Portal and social media accounts. Some will also be considered for in the RDE Digest or RDE Chronicle.

We are pleased to inform you that the OVCRE Publication Grant Program is now accepting applicants.

Under the DA-BAR funded project titled "Catalyzing UPLB's Status as a Research University," OVCRE aims to enhance the university's publications through providing editorial and monetary assistance to quality but unpublished research.

The Publication Grant Program is open to all faculty and REPS and staff with unpublished thesis and dissertations; as well as unpublished research results from completed projects in the last five years. The Program covers writing and editorial services; journal matching service; and Publication Fee Assistance.

Application form and guidelines are available at the Downloads Section of the OVCRE website (ovcre.uplb.edu.ph). Accomplished form and attachments may be submitted on or before 30 June 2016 at the OVCRE Annex to Ms. Lot B. Pua.

  1. Title of training course
  2. Short description
  3. Date (duration) and time schedule
  4. Venue, course fee and other requirements
  5. Full name of course coordinator/Full name of coordinator of specific training (module)
  6. Email addresses of course coordinator and/or specific training (module) coordinator
  7. Updated contact telephone/telefax numbers
  8. Minimum number of participants required

Hard copies will not be accepted.

SUBJECT: Selection Guidelines for the 2016 UPLB Outstanding Researcher and Research Program/Team Awards; 2016 Outstanding Extension Personnel and Extension Program/Project Awards; and 2016 Outstanding Artist Awards



To honor UPLB faculty and staff demonstrating excellence in research, extension, and creative arts, a special recognition in the form of the 2016 Outstanding Researcher and Research Program/Team Awards; 2016 Outstanding Extension Personnel and Extension Program/Project Awards; and 2016 Outstanding Artist Awards will again be given during a convocation commemorating the 107th Foundation Anniversary of UPLB in March 2016.

A three-stage selection process described in the attached selection guidelines shall be initiated at the department/institution level, followed by further evaluation at the college level.

The final selection shall be done by the University committees which shall be constituted by the Chancellor.

In the screening process, the deans, department chairs, and/or directors are requested to follow the schedule below:

ACTIVITY DEADLINE

1. Submission to OVCRE of three (3) sets of the following requirements:
a. Nomination Form
b. Justification Form
c. Accomplishment Summary Form
d. Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae
e. Portfolio (Proof of items)

report to the Chancellor.
