The main objective of the project is to determine the biological control potential of bacteria from garlic thrips and
unknown fungus from citrus against soil pathogens and thrips. Specifically, it aims to:
1. Test the antagonistic activity of B. amyloliquefaciens isolated from garlic thrips against soil pathogens from
other crops under laboratory and greenhouse condition
2. Establish the association of B. amyloliquefaciens with thrips affecting different crops.
3. Identify the unknown bacteria from citrus and determine its potential antagonistic effect against fungus
causing citrus gummosis in calamansi
