Gonzalez Chico

‘Gonzalez’ chico came from a seedling tree of ‘Ponderosa’ parent. The mother tree is very vigorous with a pyramidal growth habit and spreading branches. It is very prolific with fruits that can be harvested from November to December and March to April. The fruit is ovate, weighs 80 g and measures 6 cm long and 5 cm in diameter. The skin of ripe fruit is brownish yellow and very thin. The flesh is reddish brown, juicy, aromatic, smooth and fine, very sweet and 95% of the fruit by weight. There are 3-5 flattened, black seeds per fruit.
