IPB Var 7 Corn
IPB Var 7 or ‘Dafrosa’ is a yellow flint open-pollinated corn variety. It is suitable for animal feed and other corn-based products. It has an average grain yield of 5.57 tons/ha and matures in 95 days. It shows some degree of resistance to downy mildew. It can be grown in any soil type during the wet and dry seasons in all regions of the country. This variety is named in honor of the late Dr. Dafrosa A. del Rosario, an IPB Plant Physiologist.
