Philippine DMR Composite 2 Corn
|
Philippine DMR Composite 2 is the result of consolidating genes for resistance to mildew in earlier Philippine DMR series, thus, the descriptive term “composite”. Besides its high degree of resistance to downy mildew, it matures relatively early (in about 95 days only) and is short (with an average plant height of 2.1 m). This white flint corn can easily yield 3 tons/ha and can even reach 5 tons/ha given optimum growing conditions. Its agronomic acceptability is proven by its utilization in the other countries. It has already been recommended as a variety in Indonesia under the name Bromo and in Nepal as Sarlahi Seto.
