UPL Ri-5 Rice
This high-yielding upland rice was derived from the cross Sigadis/BPI 76-1. It is one of the upland rice varieties that had provided the base for an improved upland rice technology in the Philippines. The selection flowers in about 90 days and matures 120 days from sowing. It matures a week earlier than the common upland variety C22. It grows to an average height of 117 cm and produces about 54 productive tillers for every 50 cm segment of the row.
