PSB Rc 14 Rice
PSB Rc 14, popularly known as ‘Rio Grande,’ is a rainfed lowland rice variety released by the National Seed Industry Council in 1992.It matures in 116 days with a height of 98 cm. It has an average yield of 3.6 tons/ha and a maximum yield of 6.1 tons/ha. Its responses to pests and diseases are as follows: intermediate to brown plant hopper, stemborer, blast, bacterial blight and green leafhopper; and susceptible to tungro. Its parents are IR18348-36-8-3 and C1064-13. It is high yielding, has good grain quality, early maturing and is drought tolerant.
