PSB Rc98, popularly known as ‘Lian,’ is a rainfed lowland variety released by the National Seed Industry Council in 2001. It has an average yield of 2.6 tons/ha and a maximum yield of 4.5 tons/ha. It matures in 116 days with a height of 98 cm. Its responses to pests and diseases are as follows: resistant to brown plant hopper; intermediate to stem borer, blast, bacterial blight and green leaf hopper and intermediate or susceptible to tungro.
