Sultan 9 Cassava
CG97-17-02 or ‘Sultan 9’ is an industrial variety of cassava, suitable for starch and feed production. It has white flesh and cream cortex with fresh root yield of 35.6 tons/ha. It contains 38.6% root dry matter and 28.6% root starch. It is resistant to spider mites, scale insects, leaf spot and bacterial blight under field conditions. Harvest maturity is 10 months after planting. It is adapted to all regions of the Philippines.
