IPB-BSU Selection 3 Highland Potato
IPB-BSU Selection 3 is a clonal potato variety selected for the high elevations of Benguet, Mt. Province and Bukidnon. It can also be grown in the mid-elevation areas of Kanlaon, Quezon, and Davao. It yields an average of 20-25 tons/ha during the dry season and 18-20 tons/ha during the wet season. The tubers are fairly large with smooth, creamy white skin and pale yellow flesh. One of the outstanding features of IPB-BSU Selection 3 is its high level of resistance to late blight caused by Phytophtora infestans, the most serious fungal disease of potato in the highlands.
