Mussaenda 'Doña Amelita'

Mussaenda ‘Doña Amelita’ was derived from an open-pollinated ‘Queen Sirikit’. It has pink-tipped calyx lobes with pink margin at bud stage and at anthesis. The corolla lobes are aureolin with cadmium orange ridges. It is male sterile. This hybrid can be utilized both as landscaping material and potted flowering plant. This variety is named after the former First Lady Amelita ‘Ming’ Ramos which was released during the Philippine centennial celebration in 1998.
