Mussaenda ‘Doña Alicia’ has only one calyx lobe petaloid or fully expanded; ovate-elliptic, solid orient pink with short whitish and reddish hairs above; below, paler pink to greenish-white. It is a first generation hybrid from the cross M. philippica and M. erythrophylla and therefore the first colored mussaenda hybrid produced in the Philippines. It is named after the wife of former President Elpidio Quirino.
