Low-Cost Drip Cooler for Short Term Storage of Vegetables
This low-cost drip cooler was built with wooden framing and its walls made from jute sack, a water-absorbing material. The walls are kept wet from overhead gutters filled with water. The drip cooler uses the principle of evaporative cooling which is brought about by evaporating water from a wet surface. The high humidity maintained inside the cooler minimizes moisture loss from the produce which makes it ideal for storing vegetables or fruits.
