AquaSave: Ampiphilic Compounds as Water Evapotranspiration Retardants for Agricultural Applications
The invention aims to reduce evaporation rate of water in ricefields and reservoirs with potential applications as a transpiration retardants for foliage and cut flowers. Use of this invention will result in a reduction in water usage during hot dry spells and will reduce water stress in the rice plant. The invention is especially useful for rainfed rice fields as well as fields at the tail end of the irrigation canal. Estimates from the field trials of the traditional formulation of AquaSave indicate that rice yields can be increased by as much as 22 cavans per hectare whereas the use of the inventions is worth about 6-7 cavans per hectare only.
