Diagnostic Kits for Aflatoxin B1, Zearalonone and Fumonisin B1
This technology is a rapid, inexpensive, sensitive and safe method of detecting mycotoxins in foods, feeds and feed ingredients. It uses a monoclonal antibody-based enzyme-linked immunoassay technique for the detection of toxins. The kit can detect the presence of the mycotoxins to as low as 5 parts per billion. The technology is relatively cheaper compared to commercial test kits. This technology uses very little amount of methanol to minimize pollution and health hazards associated with the use of organic solvents in high-performance liquid chromatography. It is now used for detecting mycotoxin contamination of feeds and feed ingredients in various feed mills.
