Local Production of Lysine for Animal Feed Additive
L-lysine can be locally produced through processing of a mutant strain of Corynebacterium glutamicum. The use of a repeated feed batch process involving optimized fermentation conditions produces a high yield of L-lysine. Using a spray dryer in the downstream process results in a percentage recovery of 99.58% of lysine. The performance of livestock, aquaculture, plants, and orchids using locally-produced L-lysine is comparable to the imported L-lysine from Japan.
