Changes in Knowledge, Attitude, Skill, and Practice through Dual Training System toward Capacity Building for Entrepreneurial Community Development
Abstract
This article presents the analysis of the Dual Training System
(DTS) approach to capacity building for entrepreneurial
community development (ECD) through the Dualtech training
curriculum. Descriptive method of research was used with
referral system as basis for selecting respondents. Secondary
data and survey questionnaires were used. Descriptive analysis
was conducted using contingency tables and chi-square test.
Results showed the four components of DTS training curriculum,
knowledge, attitude, skill, and practice (KASP) were essential in
the training program implementation. Weighted mean score
showed that changes in the level of KASP of DTS respondents
increased by about 50 percent. The DTS curriculum and the
change in KASP were strongly associated. The changes in KASP
in DTS curriculum and in the community, institution, individual/
family ECD variables were related. Changes in KASP in the ECD
variables had weak to moderate association with the economic
status of the respondents. The paper presents a set of
recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of DTS.
