Call for Applications: The Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award 2022

The Hitachi Global Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2022 Asia Innovation Award from 01 April to 30 June 2022. Awardees will be receiving plaque, certificates, and cash prizes allocated as follows:

  1. Best Innovation Award – JPY 3,000,000
  2. Outstanding Innovation Award – JPY 1,000,000
  3. Encouragement Award – Approx. JPY 500,000

Launched in 2020, the Asia Innovation Award is aimed at promoting science, technology and innovation that helps solve social issues and realize a sustainable society in the ASEAN region. This award recognizes individuals and groups whose outstanding achievements in R&D in the fields of science and technology have positively served public interests.

The award-giving body will be accepting the top five (5) applications from UPLB that are aligned with SDGs 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and have also tackled the other SDGs.

In this regard, we are encouraging all UPLB faculty, REPS, and students to submit their applications as individuals or as groups, subject to the evaluation and endorsement of OVCRE.   1. Application Form (DOCX and PDF)
  2. 5-minute R&D Introduction Video
  3. At least one (1) published research paper as attachment of evidence on achievement in R&D
  4. At most two (2) other attachments of evidence on achievement in R&D (e.g., conference presentation, patent)
  5. Recommendation Letter written and signed by your Unit Head

CRADLE Call for Proposals for CY 2023 Funding

The DOST will be accepting proposals for CY 2023 funding of the Science for Change Program - Collaborative Research and Development to Leverage Philippine Economy (CRADLE) from 1 - 31 March 2022.

The CRADLE Program encourages synergistic relationships among the academe, research, and development institutions and the industry through collaborative R&D projects.

The R&D proposals should provide a solution to the identified needs of the industry and meet the general criteria of the program.

2022 MECO-TECO Sandwich Scholarship Program

The call for applications to the Manila Economic and Cultural Office – Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (MECO-TECO) Sandwich Scholarship Program (SSP) for the year 2022 is now open.

The SSP aims to provide opportunities to Filipino MS and PhD students to conduct their research in a reputable university or research institution in Taiwan. It is open to MS and PhD students who wish to perform their thesis/dissertation in Taiwan in the fields of Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering and Chemistry.

2022 MECO-TECO Joint Research Project Call for Proposals

The 2022 Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) - Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Joint Research Project Call for Proposals is now open!

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is calling for mutually beneficial and collaborative project proposals for implementation in the 1st Quarter of 2023. The identified priority areas for this call that are under the purview of DOST-PCAARRD include (1) Artificial Intelligence/Smart farming; and (2) Biotechnology for livestock.
