CAFS-PHTRC Laboratory

The Postharvest Horticulture Training and Research Center (PHTRC) Laboratory can generate basic data such as morpho-anatomy, biochemistry, pathology and entomology, postharvest physiology, biotechnology, and engineering of tropical horticultural crops. UPLB students specializing in Postharvest Horticulture, or those taking postharvest courses also have access to these facilities. Some services are provided, subject to approval and availability of personnel and equipment.

The Management Systems Engineering Program is created to assist public and private organizations in developing and implementing the management systems needed to provide for the timely delivery of high-quality, cost-effective output. Established in 2012, the laboratory has research and instruction facilities which have numerous researches and projects accomplished, with the faculty members serving as project leaders.

CEAT-Instrumentation Laboratory

The Instrumentation Room/Laboratory is the area at which the equipment for Gas Chromatography, Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry, Liquid Chromatography are located, together with other high-end equipment of the Department of Chemical Engineering such as the Fermac fermenter/bioreactor, Thermo Scientific Heratherm incubator, and Fisher refractometer. This laboratory is designated only for analysis of samples of undergraduate and graduate thesis students, and samples from research projects.

CEAT-Human Systems Engineering Program

The Human Systems Engineering Program (HSEP) plays a vital role in the design of any work system. It considers human capability and limitations to be able to apply them to the design, development, and deployment of systems and services to ensure its optimum performance and safety. As such, HSEP provides students, local and national organizations, and researchers with capability and expertise in human systems for better product designs and work environment.
