Davao Prolific Guyabano
‘Davao Prolific’ sour sop came from a seedling tree of unknown parentage. The mother tree is very vigorous with a semi-spreading growth habit. It is prolific and bears fruit yearly, which could be harvested from August to September. The fruit is irregularly heart-shaped and weighs 1726.5 g and measures 23.7 cm long and 14 cm in diameter. The skin of mature fruit is light green, soft and pliant and medium thick (0.2 cm). The flesh is creamy white, soft and spongy, moderately juicy, moderately fibrous, mildly aromatic, pleasantly subacid and 82.5% of the fruit by weight. The seeds are dark brown, oblong to ovoid and about 82 per fruit. The seeds measure 1.6 cm long and 1 cm wide.
