UPL Ct-3 cotton or Batac 3 is an improved population of RD 1017-7, a genetic stock from Thailand. It takes 70 days to first flower and 120 days to peak harvest. Its bolls are medium and glanded with an average boll weight of 4.21 g. The average number of bolls per plant is 7.82 and it gives an average of 2,119 kg of seed cotton per hectare with a lint recovery of 40.3%. It reaches a plant height of 95-102 cm at maturity. Batac 3 is highly resistant to bacterial blight and black arm diseases.
