Mosquito larvae can be controlled using PG-14, a local isolate of Bacillus thuringiensis effective against mosquito larvae. The technology developed using PG-14 is an environment-friendly, microbial larvicide which can be mass-produced using locally-available agricultural materials. The product comes in pellet and powder form. This can be applied to running bodies of water like rivers and canals and in rice fields where mosquito larvae are staying. The pellet formulation can be applied in flower vases and aquaria.
