UPL Cv-4 or ‘Vassourinha’ is an all-purpose cassava variety, suitable for food, starch, and feed production. It has white flesh and cream cortex. It has a fresh root yield of 30 tons/ha when planted in open field and 15 tons/ha when under shade. It contains 38% root dry matter and 29% root starch. It is moderately resistant to cassava bacterial blight and spider mites under field conditions. Harvest maturity is 10 months after planting. It is adapted to all regions of the Philippines.
