Sagip-Lupa (Soil Conservation) Technology |
---|
Sagip-Lupa is an adaptation of the Sloping Agricultural Technology (SALT) in the sloping farms of Mt. Banahaw, Quezon. The technology aims to conserve soil and its fertility by planting trees/shrubs or grasses as hedgerow along the contour and cropping pattern with legumes in the alley. The technology combines crops for food and feed with trees that could protect and conserve the soil and water. Sagip-Lupa is a simple technology that can be done easily by farmers given limited equipment and capital.
