AMDP Manual Corn Sheller
The AMDP manual corn sheller is a light, simply constructed, and inexpensive corn sheller made from locally available materials. It has a shelling capacity of 22-30 kg/hr with a 100% shelling efficiency. The corn sheller has two versions, the crank-type and hand-held, both of which are operated by one person. In using the hand-held version, the smaller end of the corn ear is inserted against the teeth of the sheller. The sheller is rotated while the ear is pressed against the teeth of the sheller until the whole ear is shelled. In using the crank-type version, the operator sits on the bench. The crank is rotated while the smaller end of the corn is inserted against the teeth of the sheller. The teeth of the sheller can be adjusted to accommodate different sizes of corn ears. The hand-held type measures 5 cm in diameter and 6 cm in length, while the crank-type measures 5 cm in diameter and 66 cm in length. Both types are 24 cm in width and 52 cm in height. The hand-held weighs 0.15 kg while the crank-type weighs 3 kg.
