Ethylene adsorbent (EA) developed by PHTRC is an efficient alternative to expensive imported adsorbents. The adsorbent has been found to delay ripening of banana and solo papaya without the need for refrigeration. It also retards yellowing and wilting of leafy vegetables and maintains quality of chrysanthemum, gladiolus, and white dendrobium. It is effectively used with modified atmosphere packaging and storage. Farmers, housewives, retailers, shippers and exporters can easily use this technology.
