DAS Kit for the detection of S. aureus in meat, milk and its products, and swab samples
The S. aureus DAS kit was developed and validated meat, milk and its products, and swab samples. The performance of this kit was compared with FDA's BAM culture method. A perfect agreement was obtained between the two methods in the analysis of cows' milk, swab samples, natural casings, raw meat, and meat products. In another validation study, this kit demonstrated very good agreement with a Kappa value of 0.92 and 96% relative accuracy in meat-based samples. This kit also demonstrated 100% relative specificity in chicken meat samples.
