Improved Bioprocess of Tylosin Production by Streptomyces fradiae No. 93 |
---|
This is a bioprocess for the production of a simple form of tylosin using an improved strain of Streptomyces fradiae SF93. The organism is allowed to sporulate on tryptic soy agar followed by vegetative growth on tryptic soy broth before inoculation on a developed simplified medium. Fermentation is done in a 200 L fermentor for 5 days at 28º C and the resulting product dried at 60º C for 24 hours. The flakes are pulverized, packed in plastic bags and assayed for tylosin concentration. The simple form of tylosin is much cheaper than the commercially available imported and expensive tylosin.
