OVCRE orients newly-hired UPLB REPS on employee benefits, university policies

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE) oriented newly-hired Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) on employee benefits and basic university policies.
Around 40 REPS hired from March 2018 to August 2019 attended the orientation.
Vice Chancellor Rex Demafelis said OVCRE prepared a comprehensive orientation program covering topics from employee benefits and privileges to promotion guidelines. He also mentioned the new policies intended for REPS' welfare.
Aside from OVCRE, the Human Resource and Development Office also assisted during the orientation.
Admin Officer Ricardo Reveche discussed the different performance-based benefits, allowances, and leave privileges given to UPLB staff. As for the REPS' professional growth, Admin Officer Danna Jean Consignado gave an overview of the basic university policies and procedures on study privileges and reappointments.
Ms. Czarlina May Magnata of OVCRE then tackled the guidelines on workload crediting and promotion. The last speaker, Ms. Marilyn Beltran who is also an OVCRE staff, discussed the REPS tenure guidelines.
Assistant to the Vice Chancellor Glenn Lubuguin closed the program and welcomed the newly-hired employees.
