Call for Proposals for the 2024 DOST-JSPS Joint Research Project

The DOST - JSPS Joint Research Program is a bilateral exchange program that provides support for research to be conducted jointly by Filipino and Japanese researchers in accordance with their mutual agreement on international scientific collaboration.

It aims to contribute to scientific advancement by conducting bilateral research and to provide opportunities for young researchers to meet and exchange ideas.

OC Memorandum No. 085 s. 2023: Policy on Program/Project Appointment for the UP System- and Externally-funded Research and Extension Programs and Projects

The University recognizes the significant contribution of its employees in pursuing programs and projects toward our collective vision of becoming a future-proof research university. However, it is essential to acknowledge that each member of our personnel possesses unique appointments and responsibilities, which may result in varying degrees of official involvement and appointment in research and extension programs and projects.

In line with this, the University releases this memo regarding the program/project appointments of UPLB personnel for UP System- and externally-funded R&E programs and projects.

UPLBFI-implemented and core-funded projects and studies under the UPLB Basic Research Program are not covered by these guidelines.

This memo supersedes OC Memo No. 066, s.2019: Research Implementation in Relation to Retirement issued on June 18, 2019. This memo took effect on July 24, 2023.

OC Memorandum No. 078 s. 2023: Implementation of the Scholarly Outputs Module in the UPLB Online Output Reporting System

All UPLB faculty members, REPS, and staff should input their scholarly outputs in the UPLB Online Output Reporting System (ORS).

The ORS strives to offer UPLB employees a streamlined method for registering their scholarly output, which can be utilized for various purposes such as Faculty/REPS Service Records, Faculty/REPS Merit Promotion, and other reports and systems that require this information.

Call for Proposals for the 2023 Innovation Grants

This call is open to State Universities and Colleges, national government agencies, local government units, and government-owned and controlled corporations.

The grant supports projects on pre-commercialization and commercialization activities of R&D output; establishment of new and enhancement of existing infrastructure or properties to strengthen innovation ecosystem; innovation culture promotion; and innovation policy research.

Call for Applications: DOST-SEI Foreign Graduate Scholarship Program

The DOST-SEI has approved UPLB's request to capacitate UPLB staff through their Foreign Graduate Scholarship Program. There are 20 scholarship slots for the "pursuance of graduate studies" at different universities in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Please take note of the priority fields of study.

For the January to July intake, the deadline of applications is September 15.

For the August to December intake, the deadline of applications is April 15.

Call for Project Proposals: Australia's Partnerships for a Healthy Region Initiative

The Australia's Partnerships for a Healthy Region Initiative is a five-year AU$ 620 million package that is part of Australia's renewed effort to help build resilient and equitable health systems in the Pacific and Southeast Asia, support partner countries to reduce disease risks, and build stronger, more equitable, national health systems.

Proposals must be submitted through the DFAT Health Portal of the SmartyGrants platform (https://health.smartygrants.com.au/) on or before 20 April 2023.
