The Central Analytical Services Laboratory (CASL) of BIOTECH, UPLB received ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation on 1 September 2014. It is the first testing laboratory under UPLB which was awarded with this kind of accreditation. CASL is a service laboratory providing chemical analysis of food and feeds, water and wastewater, and soil and fertilizer.

Prior to accreditation, CASL was renovated and upgraded under the supervision of Dr. Veronica P. Migo. This project was funded by the Department of Agriculture BIOTECH Program.

The ISO/IEC 17025 (International Organization for Standardization/ International Electrotechnical Commission) is an international standard followed by accreditation bodies to verify the competency of testing and calibration laboratories.
