OC Memo No. 001 s.2022: Call for Applications to the Scientific Career Merit System

The Scientific Career Merit System is an institutionalized recognition and reward system co-implemented by the Department of Science and Technology and the Civil Service Commission that confers Scientist rank on qualified researchers in the government service.

All qualified UPLB Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) are therefore encouraged to submit applications to the UPLB Scientific Career Evaluation System Committee, OVCRE until 30 April 2022.

OC Memo No. 140 s.2021: Invitation to Participate in the 2021 National Science and Technology Week Activities

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 780 s. 2019, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) celebrates the annual National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) every fourth week of November to showcase “the significant contributions of science and technology (S&T) to national development” and serve as a “platform for heralding S&T advocacy in the country.”

This year, NSTW 2021 will be held virtually from 22 to 28 November with the theme Agham at Teknolohiya: Tugon sa Hamon ng Panahon.

All faculty, REPS, administrative staff, and students are enjoined to participate in the activities of this year’s NSTW celebration. Please visit http://nstw.dost.gov.ph/ for the directory of NSTW 2021 activities organized by DOST and other institutions.

OVCRE Memo MCL No. 21-043: Recommendation for REPS qualified for the Step Increments based on meritorious performance 2020

A uniform guidelines on step increments for REPS and Administrative Personnel was issued by UP Vice President for Administration Dr. Nestor G. Yunque on 21 October 2021 (Memo No. NGY 21-163).

For the 2021 call for the step increment for meritorious performance, the 2020 REPS Service Record (average of two rating periods) will be the basis due to the limited evaluation time. For the succeeding calls for step increment for meritorious performance (2022 and onwards), the REPS Promotion Guidelines will be the basis.
