BIOTECH recieves ISO accreditation

The Central Analytical Services Laboratory (CASL) of BIOTECH, UPLB received ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation on 1 September 2014. It is the first testing laboratory under UPLB which was awarded with this kind of accreditation. CASL is a service laboratory providing chemical analysis of food and feeds, water and wastewater, and soil and fertilizer.

Four researchers from the University of the Philippines Los Baños were conferred Scientist Rank under the Scientific Career System (SCS) last June 30 at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Libis, Quezon City. Named Scientist I were Dr. Nelly S. Aggangan, Dr. Edwin P. Alcantara , Dr. Cristina M. Bajet, and Dr. Susan May F. Calumpang.
