The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) is now accepting nominations and entries for the CY 2021 PCAARRD Best Research & Development Paper Awards (Best R&D Paper Awards) and Dr. Elvira O. Tan Award (EO Tan Awards).
The Bureau of Agricultural Research (DA-BAR) would like to inform all Project Leaders that only the request to grant gratuity pay for COS and JO Personnel has been approved to be charged under the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) Allotment from the respective BAR-funded projects where the compensation of said workers are sourced from, pursuant to Administrative Order No. 38 of Malacañang Palace.
The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) is still accepting applications for the Research Dissemination in Local and International Platforms Financial Grants.
NRCP members with projects funded by the DOST and its agencies and institutes are welcome to apply until 15 February 2021.

The Analytical Service Laboratory (ASL) was established in November 28, 1985 during the 982nd meeting of the University of the Philippines Board of Regents as an extension arm of the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). ASL provides training and consultation to researchers in the academic, government and private institutions and chemical analysis of water, food, feeds, soil, sediment, and biological sample at a minimal cost.
The Animal Nutrition Analytical Service Laboratory (ANASL) was established during the 1970’s to cater the needs of the animal science researchers and students, particularly those specializing in Animal Nutrition that includes both undergraduate and graduate students doing their theses and students in ANSC 102, 143, 270, and 271. This laboratory is also income-generating by providing services at affordable cost to the livestock industry.
The laboratory chemical analysis for soil samples, plant tissue, water samples, guano and organic fertilizers. It can also do physical analysis, provide fertilizer recommendations, and evaluate soil fertility. It serves a wide group of clientele which includes government institutions, private companies and individuals, farmers and students. The laboratory is used for microbiological tests for milk quality and also used for instruction and research.
The laboratory is capable of conducting research on semen processing and embryo transfer, thus services on determining semen quality and preservation of semen, eggs and embryos are the special capabilities offered.
The laboratory is capable of producing and marketing different kinds of soft and hard cheeses in commercial scale with the existence of a new ripening room and vacuum packing machine. It has also capabilities to analyze the basic microbiological and chemical qualities of raw milk and finished products.
